Suspect arrested after stabbing attack outside a synagogue in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood in north London left two people wounded.

Two people were wounded in a stabbing attack in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood of London on Wednesday morning.

The attack occurred in the Golders Green neighborhood of northern London, when a man armed with a knife ran down Golders Green Road, stabbing pedestrians just outside of a synagogue.

According to a statement by the ultra-Orthodox Jewish neighborhood watch group Shomrim, the assailant targeted members of the local Jewish community.

“One male was seen running along Golders Green Road armed with a knife and attempting to stab Jewish members of the public,” the Shomrim said.

The group later added that the suspect was subdued by Shomrim volunteers before being handed over to police officers, who placed them man under arrest after tasing him.

The two victims wounded in the attack were treated at the scene by the Jewish first-responder group Hatzola.

“Shomrim responded immediately and detained the suspect. Police attended and deployed a taser.”

“The male has now been arrested. Two victims have been stabbed and are being treated by Hatzola.”

A report by the BBC said that two Orthodox Jewish men were seriously wounded in the stabbing attack.
