Four young men have pleaded guilty to destroying four ambulances belonging to Jewish emergency service Hatzola in a targeted arson attack outside a synagogue in London’s heavily Jewish Golders Green neighborhood.
Three set the ambulances ablaze while a fourth waited in a getaway car, causing an estimated $1.4 million in damage. Prosecutors previously described the incident as a “premeditated and targeted attack against the Jewish community.”
An Iran-linked group later claimed responsibility for the attack, though defense lawyers deny the four men had connections to any proscribed terrorist organization. The UK is now moving to ban the group as a national security threat.
