This is the point. Your parents wanted to see you lawyers and doctors – the well-paid, upper middle class folk. But majority of the American populace is lower middle class, they just don’t see you much, except if get ill or in trouble with the law. And most of them resent you as high paid jerks. To imbue American kids and teenagers with warm feelings toward Jews and Israel, your generation had to become teachers in kindergartens and elementary, secondary and high schools. But these are lower paid jobs, not acceptable for a Jewish mom. You missed your chance to integrate in the entire American society, not only its upper echelons. What do you expect then in the society with “one man – one vote”?
Where to start? You’re missing entirely the point of this experiment. Perfection was never guaranteed here any more than one will be rich in Israel is guaranteed. What is sad about your points-of-views is that you are only in it for yourselves. The whole point of the Jews who came here and helped found this great experiment, those who were an essential part of the weaving the fabric of the founding of this Democratic Republic, was their ability to envision, to belong to something greather than themselves, and to help create the structure that would allow that to flourish. Indeed, this is the great promise that is made to all citizens of the United States. How wrong you and Mr. Magerman are about the allegeed watered-down Judaism as replaced by compassless Chrisitanity. This grossly misaccounts for the secular replacement of our own values, when any Reform Judaism service makes it difficult to tell if one is attending a Democratic Party event or a religious one. But that’s not what you should be worried about so much as Mr. Magerman, your parents, and your failures to understand the essence of this country. You should be focusing on recreating the best of the great experiment, not hiding behind your parochialism. Your parents, you, and Mr. Magerman should apologize to their children for misguiging them about their responsibilities that come with being part of this country. You should be censorious of not only the U.S. secular education that failed you but your own grasp of what the Torah could teach you about the essence of this country’s sacred texts. Sad.
Jews worldwide are blinded by the physical presence of where they are living and are having a problem to relocate and make the best of Aliyah and to live with their brethren in eretz yisrael.

I am an old lady, going on 79, who made aliyah 2.5 years ago, spent almost all my savings to do it, and I am miserable here, there is no redemption here. Life is harder for me than it ever was. The only two good things about it is that I don’t have to shovel snow in the winter and that health care is cheaper, but it still costs. Just wanna say that. I have been looking for work to supplement my social security and I might as well bang my head against the wall. And as far as Jew Hatred is concerned, there is plenty of sinat chinom here between haredim and chilonim. I believed all the lies, and now I am stuck because I don’t have enough money to go back and live out the rest of my days. STOP LYING TO PEOPLE ABOUT HOW EASY AND CHEAP IT IS TO LIVE HERE. I LIVED IN TEANECK FOR ALMOST 37 YEARS.
to American Jewish people .. I am American Jewish myself.. Im in the middle of paperwork, Medical Recodres and Certificates ( its done now) Medical Records ( still not completed yet) .. Dont postpoining just because of Iran -U.S War. Just go now ! the worst is down the road.. right now its temporarily Ceasefire because Trump and Iran have a new Talks. Go when its Ceasefire… Your best bet during flight. go at daytime. not at night. ( they intend to bombing during at night).. Have Faith with Hashem ! pray harder to recieve God s answers… God bless you all.
