White House reportedly agreed with Netanyahu’s demand that US-Iran deal won’t limit Israeli operation against Hezbollah; Iran says ceasefire with US will not include Israel.

A truce between the United States and Iran may not end the fighting between Israel and Iran, according to Lebanese media reports.
The White House has indicated that the US and Iran are engaged in talks aimed at ending the current conflict in the Middle East.
On Monday, President Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social account that his administration is negotiating with a “new” regime in Iran, despite no formal declaration of a change in leadership since Mojtaba Khamenei was named Supreme Leader earlier this month.
Even if the two sides do reach an agreement, however, Iran has reportedly indicated it may continue its ballistic missile attacks on Israel.
According to Lebanese media reports, Iran conveyed a message to the US, underscoring that if the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah continues despite a truce between Tehran and Washington, the Islamic Republic will not be obliged to halt its attacks on Israel.
Israel has signaled that it will continue its ground and air operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
According to a report by Israel Hayom, Prime Minister Netanyahu told senior Trump administration officials that any agreement that may be reached between the US and Iran will not impact Israel’s war with Hezbollah.
The report indicated that the White House accepted Netanyahu’s position, with one senior Israeli official telling the Hebrew daily that “Lebanon does not interest Trump.”
Netanyahu reportedly told US officials that he believes Israel has a unique opportunity to significantly improve security on Israel’s northern border by pushing Hezbollah forces beyond the Litani River.
The Israeli premier is said to have rejected outright a proposal by French President Emmanuel Macron for an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon, in exchange for promises that France will ensure Hezbollah is disarmed.
