Tragic Beliefs Children Raised for Violence in the Middle East

There are people raising their children to believe that the greatest honor is to become a martyr. It’s horrifying, but right now in the Middle East, some mothers tuck their kids into bed and whisper, “One day, you’ll be a hero, a shaheed for Allah.” Imagine growing up with that. Holding a baby and putting a grenade in their hands, praying they’ll one day blow themselves up—that’s messed up. These kids grow up thinking that violence is their destiny, and that’s deeply tragic and disturbing.
