Israeli prime minister says he reached understanding with President Trump regarding the proposed interim deal with Iran, as well as future of conflict in Lebanon.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday evening that he and President Donald Trump agreed that any final nuclear agreement with Iran must eliminate Tehran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons, including by dismantling its enrichment infrastructure and removing enriched uranium from Iranian territory.
Netanyahu said he spoke with Trump on Saturday night about a memorandum of understanding to reopen the Straits of Hormuz, as well as upcoming negotiations toward a final agreement on Iran’s nuclear program.
“President Trump and I agreed that any final agreement with Iran must eliminate the nuclear danger,” Netanyahu said. “That means dismantling Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites and removing its enriched nuclear material from its territory.”
The prime minister said he expressed “deep appreciation” to Trump for what he described as the president’s “unwavering commitment to Israel’s security,” including during Operation Roaring Lion and Operation Epic Fury.
Netanyahu said US and Israeli forces had fought “shoulder to shoulder against the Iranian threat” during the operations.
The comments came as Washington prepares for further talks over Iran’s nuclear program following the recent conflict and amid efforts to secure navigation through the Straits of Hormuz, a key global energy route.
Netanyahu also said Trump reaffirmed Israel’s right to act militarily against threats beyond Iran, including in Lebanon.
“President Trump also reaffirmed Israel’s right to defend itself against threats on every front, including Lebanon,” he said.
The Israeli leader framed the conversation as a sign of close coordination between Jerusalem and Washington after the war with Iran.
“The partnership between us and our two countries has been proven on the battlefield and has never been stronger,” Netanyahu said.
He added that his position on Iran remained aligned with Trump’s.
“My policy, like President Trump’s, remains unchanged: Iran will not have nuclear weapons,” Netanyahu said.
