After Tucker Carlson denies that Israel and the US are democracies and claims Netanyahu dragged the US into war with Iran, the Trump administration rebukes the far-right podcaster, accusing him of spreading “fake news.”

The White House pushed back Wednesday after Tucker Carlson told Israeli television that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had dragged President Donald Trump and the United States into the war with Iran.
In a statement to Israel’s Channel 13, the White House accused Carlson of spreading “fake news” and defended Trump’s decision to join Israel’s campaign against Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure.
The statement called Carlson “a low-IQ person who spreads fake news for cheap publicity,” echoing recent comments by President Trump.
“Long before he was elected, President Trump has been consistent in his belief that Iran can never be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon,” the White House said.
“Israel has always been a great ally to the United States, especially through Operations Midnight Hammer and Epic Fury that obliterated Iran’s nuclear facilities and destroyed their defense industrial base.”
“President Trump took bold, decisive action to protect the American people — something presidents have talked about for 47 years, but only this President has had the courage to address,” the statement added.
The response followed Carlson’s Channel 13 interview, in which the former Fox News host criticized both Trump and Netanyahu over the Iran war.
Carlson said the conflict was “destructive to the US and the world” and accused Trump of “caving under the pressure” of Netanyahu and Israel’s allies in the US.
“The Israeli prime minister pushed the US president, who turned out to be far weaker than I understood, into a war that hurts the United States,” Carlson said.
Carlson also questioned why Washington followed Israel’s lead when the war began.
“On February 28, the US followed Israel into this war, and the US Secretary of State said that there was no choice and that Israel chose the timing,” Carlson said.
“This is the definition of control. So my question is, why did Trump let a nation of 9 million people drag a nation of 350 million people into a war that would change its future, and that is bad for the United States?”
The 57-year-old podcaster went on to claim that Israel and the United States are no longer democracies.
The interview also included broader criticism of Israel’s conduct in Gaza.
Carlson said Israel “has definitely lost its morality” and argued that the United States should stop providing military aid. “There’s no reason the United States should be sending any money at all to Israel and particularly not to its military,” he said.
