Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei met with senior military commander Ali Abdollahi and issued “new directives” to Iran’s armed forces, according to a report by Fars News Agency.
During the meeting, Abdollahi, who heads Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya command, presented a report describing the country’s forces as being at “peak readiness” across all branches, including the Revolutionary Guard and Basij.
He reportedly told Khamenei that Iranian forces are prepared to respond “swiftly and forcefully” to any “mistake or aggression” by the United States or Israel.
The meeting comes as Washington continues to await Tehran’s response to a proposed ceasefire framework aimed at ending the war and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, with Iranian officials sending mixed signals in recent days.
