US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said any American military move against Iran would be carried out in lockstep with Israel, describing such coordination as inherent to the relationship between the two countries.

In an interview broadcast Sunday on Channel 12, Huckabee stressed that no decision on a strike has been taken, but made clear that President Donald Trump is firm in his position that Iran must not obtain nuclear weapons.

“All bets are off” if Tehran escalates, he said, adding that for now Israelis should “remain alert and continue daily life.”

He said it was difficult to imagine either Washington or Jerusalem acting without the other in a scenario involving Iran, citing the depth of the security partnership and recent discussions between officials on missile threats and broader deterrence considerations.

Outlining Trump’s approach, Huckabee said, “[Trump] will do two things. First, protect the Iranian people who are being brutalized by a runaway government that for 47 years has threatened Israel and the United States. Second, he will be adamant that Iran does not get a nuclear weapon and does not enrich uranium.”

Turning to regional dynamics, Huckabee described Israel as the United States’ primary ally in the Middle East.

He pointed to Washington’s commitment to maintaining Israel’s qualitative military edge and contrasted that with the limitations imposed on Turkey’s participation in the F-35 program, noting that any shift would require major changes in Ankara’s defense posture.

On Gaza, Huckabee reiterated that Hamas must be removed from power and disarmed. “The president said Hamas will disarm and have no role in Gaza. How, when, and who does it still have question marks, but I believe it will happen,” he said.

He added that regional involvement and civilian reforms would be essential, while cautioning that trust in Hamas is unwarranted and that international pressure would be necessary.

Addressing criticism over alleged US involvement in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s legal case, Huckabee said Washington respects Israel’s courts. “Americans are blunt, like Israelis. We took a position, but not to challenge the Supreme Court’s integrity,” he said, comparing it to political developments seen in the United States.
