Qatar accused Israel of breaching the Gaza ceasefire after the Hamas-run civil defense agency reported that 32 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes across the Strip.

In a statement, Qatar’s foreign ministry said, “The State of Qatar expresses its strong condemnation of the repeated Israeli violations of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip… in a dangerous escalation that will inflame the situation and undermine regional and international efforts aimed at consolidating the truce.”

The Israel Defense Forces said the strikes were directed at four commanders from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, along with a weapons depot, an arms manufacturing facility and two rocket-launching sites.

According to the military, the operations followed an incident Friday in which eight terrorists emerged from a tunnel in southern Gaza’s Rafah area.

The IDF said three of the terrorists were killed in immediate strikes, while a fourth, described as a senior Hamas commander, was taken into custody.

Israeli officials did not comment directly on the casualty figures cited by Gaza’s civil defense agency but maintained that the targets were tied to terror infrastructure and personnel involved in hostile activity.

The statement warned that continued military activity could jeopardize diplomatic work aimed at stabilizing the situation and preventing a broader escalation.

The exchange highlighted the fragile nature of the ceasefire, which is reaching its second phase.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has openly opposed allowing Qatar to participate in governance or security arrangements for Gaza after the war, part of a broader dispute with the United States over a planned post-war framework.

Netanyahu has insisted there should be no Turkish or Qatari troops in the enclave and said Jerusalem disagrees with Washington’s appointment of Qatar’s representative to an international “executive board” meant to guide Gaza’s transition, arguing that the body’s composition was announced without Israeli coordination and contradicts Israel’s policy.
